publication

We are pleased to announce the publication of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (Springer Nature, 2026), a new edited volume examining key challenges and future directions in contemporary higher education.

Edited by Shidong Wang (Oxford Prospects and Global Development Institute, University of Oxford), Simon Marginson (University of Oxford and University of Bristol), and Zhou Zuoyu (Faculty of Education, Beijing Normal University), the book brings together leading scholars and practitioners from the UK, China, and beyond. It addresses teaching innovation, inclusivity, wellbeing, digital transformation, and the growing impact of artificial intelligence on teaching and learning.

Originating from the University Presidents’ Roundtable initiated by the Oxford Prospects and Global Development Institute, the volume reflects sustained international dialogue and a strong commitment to practice-oriented pedagogical development.

“This book is an invitation to rethink teaching and learning in higher education through dialogue, practice, and shared responsibility across cultures and systems.”
— Shidong Wang, Zhou Zuoyu & Simon Marginson (Editors)

The book will be of interest to academic staff, educational developers, institutional leaders, and researchers engaged in advancing teaching and learning in higher education.
